One of the new-fangled options for decorating ceilings is tensile structures, represented by a wide variety of textures, compositions and colors. They fit perfectly into the style, emphasize the individuality and taste of the owners. To achieve the aesthetic beauty of a stretch ceiling for a long period of time, you can properly care for the surface, maintaining it in good condition. Sometimes specialists from cleaning companies are invited to wash or clean, but this process is not so complicated, and you can carry it out yourself.

When it is time to put the ceiling in order, you should carefully prepare for work, purchase the necessary accessories. You must admit that the ceiling is rarely cleaned, so it’s better to spend some time and get high-quality cleaning and other accessories than to risk damaging such a beautiful and expensive surface.

Depending on the type of dirt and surface for cleaning, you may need flannel rags, soft brushes, foam sponges, dry cleaning napkins, a basin or bucket for diluting soap foam and, naturally, a stepladder so that you can easily reach every corner of the surface .

If you want to simply remove a layer of dust from the ceiling in the living room or to clean it of sediment after repairs, you can use a vacuum cleaner, but you need to choose a nozzle so that it does not cause damage to the surface, for example, a very soft fleecy brush (hereinafter we will consider tips on how to properly vacuum the ceiling).

Sometimes, to simplify cleaning, or in the case of very high ceilings, the hosts resort to using a mop, wrapping a damp cloth on it. In the case of stretch linens, such a life hack is a risky undertaking, since one careless movement (strong emphasis, jerk) can lead to surface damage. First you need to wash with circular light movements without pressure. Then, to return the shine, it will not hurt to treat it with a 10% percent solution of ammonia, and in conclusion - once again walk with a dry cloth.

The matte surface has its advantages, in particular, the ability to bring calm and tranquility to any interior. It suppresses any reflections and looks like a classic whitewash. The only caveat concerns the design of kitchen ceilings with such canvases - according to experts, soot and greasy stains that may occur during cooking are quite difficult to remove from a rough surface.

On matt ceilings, stains are noticeably much less, which somewhat simplifies the matter. Nevertheless, cleaning must also be carried out carefully and efficiently. Use a regular soap (powder) solution, which is diluted in warm water (+ 30 ... + 40 ° C). Here, side-to-side movements are preferred (from right to left and back). If the joint of the canvases is present in the structure, then the seam must be washed along. Next, rinse the ceiling with water and wipe.

Stretch fabric ceilings are often chosen when designing luxurious interiors. They resemble decorative plaster in appearance, and the textured surface makes the ceiling visually absolutely flat. Keep in mind that not every fabric can boast of water resistance, and it is better to clean them in a dry way without using water, just wipes or special soft brushes (models are found in stores for cleaning ceiling difficult surfaces with bends and cornices).

A feature of the fabric tension surface is its fragility, so cleaning should be carried out with extreme caution. In no case can you rub for a long time in one place, trying to eliminate an old spot - this can lead to a change in structure and loss of appearance. Such sheets should be wiped carefully, without the use of force. It is better to avoid circular movements in favor of longitudinal ones, which will provide better cleaning of the fabric.

Experts warn that the use of soda solution, which is often used by housewives in cleaning the kitchen space, is not recommended, since it can negatively affect the aesthetic characteristics of the coating. When the local problem is fixed, you can start washing the entire surface by the methods described above.

Summing up, we can say that it is not at all difficult to wash the suspended ceiling at home, if you follow the basic precautions, namely:

- Do not use abrasive solutions, especially those that contain acetone - it can damage the material, spoiling its appearance. It is best to test the tool before work on a small poorly visible area;

- In no case should you use hard brushes, even in relation to very old soiling - they must be soaked and then washed using mild, gentle means;

- If you prefer cleaning with a mop, be extremely careful with sudden movements to avoid deformation of the canvas;

- All seams present on the ceiling surface must not be processed in a circular motion or across, but exclusively along to avoid the accumulation of dirt at the joints.

Be sure to consider the properties of various canvases, choose the right accessories, cleaning products. You should also monitor the possible appearance of spots in certain places. Sometimes the cause may be soot or leaking pipes from the upper floors. The first thing to do is to eliminate the potential threat.
